896 mk3 installed and Win7 says "No Audio Device"

Post by AndrewMcPherson »

Hello dear users,

I own a beautiful problem called "896 mk3" :banghead: and I've installed with latest drivers version described below:
ile Name: MOTU_Audio_Installer-Win-110314.zip
Date: 2011/03/16
Version: 4.0.46150
Platform: Windows XP, Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit

The problem is that the interface is installed in win 7 (64 bits) and works great with any DAW but the problem is that I got a nice red cross on audio device output and windows saying that there is no audio output installed. :smash: :smash:

So, I just cant use any media player to hear anything cause it simply doesnt work.

Anyone one here with that problem or similar issues? (I've searched and found some posts but not satisfatory, so please don't say use the search) :banghead: :banghead: :sorry:

Best regards to all who helps here.

For last, if anyone make this interface works perfectly W/O problems in win7 64 bits, what driver version worked for you ? Thanks :D

Well guys,
After some like 20 formats :banghead: :banghead:
I found out a solution to make this stupid red cross finally disappear
here we go:
01) fresh and new install win 7 (64 bits)
02) On BIOS, enable onboard sound....yeah....enable this crap yessss
03) after install win 7, install onboard device driver with the CD
you may have...(but win 7 probably will install a default driver...)
04) now you have no red cross anymore, simple like that
05) install MOTU driver like another topics here says how to do it
06) voilá, you gonna have 2 soundcards working, select MOTU as default
device and be happy....go make some mixes, masterings, whatever you want!!!

GL for everyone that have this stupid issue....
maybe this works for you

Regards to all :headbang: :headbang:
