Well gang,

I gave it a year. I spent the better part of my ownership time with this MOTU Traveler trying to work around its neverending issues with WinXP SP3. I finally threw in the towel last week and bought an RME Fireface400. I can't tell you how happy I am now!!! No issues whatsoever. Follow the well-written instruction manual, install drivers, upgrade firmware... everything JUST FRIGGIN' WORKS! Sweet relief.

Thanks to everyone in this thread who tried to help. In the end, this was not a product that ever worked for me, but I'm glad that at least the Mac users seem to be happy.

Best of luck and thanks again for the help,
Jeff

A bit afraid to ask this, but has anyone out there been using Vista SP2 and been able to get two 828 Mk3's working? I own one 828 Mk3 and thinking of getting a second one so I can record more tracks at once.

Thanks,
Bill

Hey Bill,

The odds are not in your favor, but if you do want to pursue it then you should read this first as it would provide the method of making it work:

I would absolutely bring your computer system and your current motu into the dealer where you plan to purchase your second motu and set it up on site. If it works for you then buy it. If it doesn't, then don't.

Hi Mike, and thanks for the reply. That is a good idea to bring down my laptop and 828 Mk3 to the store and hook it up with a 2nd 828 and see how it goes. Thanks too for all your research getting MOTU units to work!

Best regards,
Bill

Hey Bill,

Definitely worth while to do so. And I should further clarify that if you do get it up and running, you should purchase the actual 828 that you test even if it's just a floor model
