AVB WDM stereo device support

Post by webcme »

Hi, I'm wondering if there will ever be support for non-multichannel (ordinary stereo device) support for AVB devices. This would be extremely useful for me, currently trying to do internal routing to various bits of teleconferencing software like Skype that rely on WDM/wave support rather than ASIO and the multichannel WDM is almost completely unsupported by this type of software. I get one 2-channel pair only, for me this isn't a workable solution.

In the meantime I'm using ASIO Link software to create virtual WDM devices, but this introduces latency and it's not terribly stable, I need to create the interfaces after starting the system up and it's also causing problems with device assignment/ownership by applications when they initialize at startup. In short, it's a mess, and WDM drivers as they existed for older devices would be a huge benefit.
