They would not release a new version of Ethno in March of 2010 that was only compatible with OSX up to about August of 2009. I mean... I don't THINK they would. If they did, it could only mean they got their new programmers from Texas A&M. I think not, though the new cattle management features in Ethno might be kind of interesting. The dead giveaway would be that Cajun and North Dallasite would be the two major new ethnicities added. (Sorry... Texas insider humor -- hey, we have to do something to entertain ourselves out here on the prairie)

In other words, yes, the new Ethno will be Snow Leopard compatible. That's the whole point of their upgrade. A new Symphonic Instrument and MachV.3 can't be far behind.

They are the official importators for the Motu products for France.

When I first saw those pages, that notice wasn't there. They must've been in the process of rolling them out when I saw them.

In any case, the release date is no longer an open question: v2 should be available in the next few weeks.

Just ordered the upgrade last night. The Ethno V.1 debacle with Snow Leopard has taught me a lesson. I'm simply going to wait until all my software is in compliance with a new OS before I upgrade. For what I do SL hasn't made one shred of difference. I've been using the Ethno work around but I stupidly updated my OS with like 6 projects, all heavy on Ethno, in flux and never froze tracks.

so does that mean Ethno 1 will never be SL compatible?

Between this & Mach V's obsolescence I'm frustrated with the money I've invested into MOTU VI's. Stylus & Ivory still work with no paid upgrade.

It more than doubled, at least in terms of disk space.
