Created this one the other day. I also tested out using the Rise as a poor-man's MalletKat with soft mallets. Good for playing rudimentary vibes and marimba. I absolutely love this instrument:

Eric, this is great! Very good piece and presentation. And one of the best Rise demos I have seen. Thanks a lot, now I really want one.

It's like a dream, can't stress that enough. One thing they don't say in the explanations, that makes it actually a lot easier to play than you would expect, is that it "quantizes" the attack pitch to the nearest semi-tone, but then you can slide from there. This makes a lot of sense. As much as it might be cool to think of playing a totally fretless keyboard, that would kind of suck. Keyboardists don't have hand positions the way other fretless string players do, we cross over constantly, we jump our hands around, we can't just sit our fingers precisely over specific pitches. So, the next best thing is to be able to detect the closest pitch, but allow us to glide up and down from there in a relative motion. This concept really makes or breaks the instrument from a playability standpoint. I found it a lot easier to play than I expected to.
