A cool twist on a holiday classic

Post by stubbsonic »

I heard this traditional carol on the Muzak® at a coffee shop; but I felt the rhythm in a different way.

In this remix, I took the original carol, displaced it rhythmically, and added bells, drums, bass synth, and piano. Enjoy....

One of the problems I often have is hearing "one" in some place where it isn't or hearing a subdivision that wasn't intended. I guess I'm just open to unusual syncopations, etc. In this case it yields a nice treatment of this Christmas classic. Great job!

Thanks!

I occasionally will hear a beat in a different place, and then when it shifts back to it's "rightful" place, I love that feeling of a "dimensional shift".

Very clever, I love what that beat change does to the feel of the vocals, especially since they are accented on the original 1's...

Thanks!

The "Merry merry merry merry christmas" is now a really cool rhythm- but it's a more challenging to hear it in the "new placement".
