Made my first video background for a song I recorded.

Post by donreynolds »

Hey, I did it! I made my first video background to a song that I recorded. It's and original arrangement of a classic song. I used my Triton for the strings and a Shadow Sh075 for MIDI tracking and a Fishman Aura for the Acoustic GTR tracking. All he vocals are me and everything is recorded and mixed in the box with DP. I know it is a little bit long, but listen to the whole thing if you don't mind. I have not done anything this complicated before and would like some comments.

Here is the link.

If for some reason it does not work, my facebook page is

Yay! I love DP!

See ya,

Don

Hi Don, I wasn't able to find it. The facebook page said that the video had been removed. I don't know anything about facebook, but I don't think it was something I was doing wrong. Anyway, let us know when you get it fixed and I'll certainly give it a look-see.

I don't know what happened. Try this link. I tried and it works.

The video is nothing fancy. i am just glad I found out how to even do it. I will now work on making them better, using real video clips now that I know how to get it up. Just something that I have never fooled with before. I have never tried to put something with my recorded music.

It also was removed. I wanted to see it as I remember you posting about wanting to do a music video.

I embedded it for you, Don. To post YouTube video in messages you use the YouTube tag in this format:

Code: Select all

[YouTube]VB823pABJeY,480,385[/YouTube]
Where the first part is the YouTube video ID, the second number is the pixel width, and the last number is pixel height. You can get the width and height by clicking "Embed" at the YouTube page.

I'm also moving this over to the user showcase forum as I think it's probably more appropriate over there?

Ok James, Thanks and sorry, Should have done that to start with. I appreciate the info. I usually do Rock, but I wanted to try it out.

No worries. Hope you don't mind the category switch. Also, the YouTube tag is tricky. It's one I had to create myself using phpBB's ability to create tags. There's also a QuickTime one that's even trickier as you have to ADD 16 to the number of pixels vertically to allow for the transport control at the bottom.

Hey James, What kind of ID tag do I have to put to embed something from Facebook or Myspace music? My Youtube video came out in standard frame when the original was in a wide screen mode?

I do not yet have a tag (or more appropriately a BB Code) for the other video you mentioned. I have to custom create then and add then to the board. I don't know why it came out full screen but if you go to the actual YouTube page for your video and click "Embed" you will see in the code YouTube gives you that those are the pixel dimensions given in the embedding code. So beats me.

That's good, but there's no facebook video BB Code yet. But heck... I didn't have anything else to do today, right?

UPDATE: Okay... there, Done. I made a [facebook] BB Code. You do not need to supply the pixel width and height as I think Facebook forces all the videos to 400 x 224?? Correct me if I'm wrong with that. So all you need to do is supply the Video ID in the middle.

Looks like you have to sort out a permissions setting in your user account or something.
