Unisyn v1.x install on Mac with no floppy drive, How ?

Post by ifwuh »

Unisyn 1.4, and 1.5 came with floppy authorization disks.
So how would you install it on say, a Power Mac G4 that has no floppy drive ?
Or is everyone running this older version on Macs that pre-date the G4s shown here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Mac_G4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" .
I recall that when Apple dropped the floppy drive, once there were stand-alone floppy drives that connected via USB, but did they need a special authorization disk upgrade to work with them ?

I used a USB floppy drive with my G4 350MHz years ago to transfer my ATARI Cubase projects as MIDI files to the Mac.
It was just P&P from what I remember; no driver installation required, and certainly no "auth".

Failing your acquiring such a drive, I can't help but think that MOTU may be able to help with some sort of an upgrade/ patch/ advice or whatever

Mac 2012 12C Cheese Grater, OSX 10.13.6
MOTU DP8.07, MachFive 3.2.1, MIDI Express XT, 24I/O
Novation, Yamaha & Roland Synths, Guitar & Bass, Kemper Rack
