Updating to DP5.1 and unisyn offer?

Post by pastiche27 »

i am going to update to DP5 from 4.6 and MOTU is offering unisyn 2 for $99... I do need an editor for my oberheim 6r's and a prophet 600. But , It looks like Unisyn hasn't been updated in years. Does it work in leopard on a intel machine? I have an early 2008 Dual Quad core 2.8 .... Is it woth adding Unisyn? or should i look else where for an editor?

the programmer who developed Unisys, originally an Atari program called XoR sold by Dr.T's Music Software, left MOTU several years ago. I would seriously doubt that Unisyn program will ever be updated and would pretty strongly recommend against investing any $ in purchasing it.

You're right
But actually Mac users are in an incredible situation: there are no Editor Librarians running good under OSX....

Unisyn is almost outdated and quite finnicky....
MidiQuest is a REAL ENORMOUS C**P

I'm forced to restart my G4 under AMc OS9.2 and load Opcode Galaxy...

Oh for a still working version of Opcode Galaxy Plus Editors ! A really good program that makes Unisyn seem crap - and perhaps it is crap. I can't be bothered with it anymore and have resorted to editing in the hardware rather than bothering to load Unisyn.
