Transfer the card to D50 internal memory, get the patches to Unisyn and then reload the original patches to the D50 from the card you saved them on before you started (or the 00 card that came with the D50). Unfortunate, but the only way I figured out to do it.
As Chucks said, the vital thing here is to BACK UP your internal sounds before you load your card sounds into the internal memory. (Dump them to Unisyn or load them on a blank memory card.)
I've been gradually transferring a load of Galaxy libraries to Unisyn this way from my oooold LCIII. Dump a bank into the D-50 Internal memory, Dump THAT to Unisyn; Repeat...)
Thanks Chucks.

D50 card patches
by Richard Smith » Wed Sep 05, 2007 6:07 pm
Chucks is right. Unless Unisyn (or some other software writer) incorporates a file for external card patches on the D50, you'll have to dump the card memory into the D50's internal bank. As chucks also stated, be sure to back-up the internal memory first. What you end up with are 2 separate D50 files but at least you now have the option to create a whole new bank of files without losing your current sets. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to call both banks up by name in DP. Maybe someone out there can tell us about a work around for this.
