El Cap/Sierra Security Update

Post by HCMarkus »

Anybody install today's update as yet? It patches the "Meltdown" and "Spectre" vulnerabilities, which is good. But does it impact performance when running DP?

Inquiring minds are seeking feedback from any who have applied this patch under any OS, including High Sierra. Thanks!

One of those patches was released for High Sierra a few days before anyone knew to panic over possible slowdowns. The interim patches have cause no problems.

The only issue I know was over a Windows 10 patch that Microsoft forgot to test with certain AMD processor — oops!

Likewise, many flavors of LINUX were patched before the big panic attack.

My VI drive boots into El Cap and I keep a few apps on it for testing. I ran the 10.11 updates on it last night and noticed no difference in DP.

10.13.2 and the update seems fine.
DP 9.51 is working well with all software and peripherals.
I haven't done a high load test yet, so I'm not sure if the security update has changed DP's maximum capabilities.
Fingers crossed.
Still having the 'save on play' audio distortion, but I'm sure MOTU will fix that.

Happy that DP is thriving in 2018!
All is well
