9.13 freeze of kontakt Strum produces phase issues

Post by Timeline »

I programmed an acoustic strum track recently. I went to freeze it and got back a varying phase track which was more like an effect similar to a tape vso effect. I ended up using it for that unfortunately I still don't understand how it happened. Also noticed DP is having issues with BFD drum VI's catching up for a few seconds as if my machine is slow. It happens to be a 12 core 3.46mhz with lots of ram. Suggestions please.

I've never trusted DP's freezing. Among other things, it used to insist on using bundles that were already assigned to o ther things, drop-outs and timing issues, etc. That command is dead to me.

I would try recording the tracks in real time instead. Your tracks are already assigned, so recording might even give you a faster workflow.
This is how I do it and I have NEVER had an issue with the resulting audio file.

Freezing tracks in DP has always worked great for me. I just did it again yesterday to free up some CPU in a pretty large orchestral piece... just froze the cellos and basses, got all my horsepower back, and the tracks sound great.

As the group's Designated Stupid Question Asker, I have to posit:

Are you certain you didn't bounce a stereo output from Strum down to mono?

No, it came back stereo jim. I guess I will send it out with a bunch of tracks deactived. More headroom. Didnt realize Strum was such a pig. :-)
