Compatible Audio Installers?

These are listed as the current MOTU Audio Installers:

All versions compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8 - 10.12.x
MOTU Audio Installer v1.6.73220 (Release Date 2017-07-01)
Fixed FireWire panic on sleep
MOTU Audio Installer v1.6.71459 (Release Date 2016-11-01)
Added 10.12 support

All versions compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8 - 10.11.x

MOTU Audio Installer v1.6.68717 (Release Date 2016-02-11)
Added 10.11 support


If my computer is only able to get to OS X 10.11, should I only be using the v1.6.68717 installer?

Currently, I'm on v1.6.71459. Am I possibly having issues because I'm using an installer that's really built for 10.12, or, is v1.6.71459 and v1.6.73220 okay for any computers running 10.6.8 and up to 10.12.x?

My interface is the 896mk3 Firewire.

Always use the latest unless an issue is raised and MOTU Support recommends using an older version — rare but it has happened.

Do you happen to know why they have the differentiation? I'm confused as to its purpose. Was v1.6.68717 the last installer prior to 10.6.12's release and that's what they're saying?

There is always something to be fixed or improved. Absent any release notes, I would be guessing. No problems that I can see — but I never let my Mac sleep when my 828mkII is turned on.
