EW Symphonic Choirs Platinum and DP9

Post by daerp1 »

I am trying to figure out how to get EW Symphonic Choirs to respond to the Word Builder part of the plug-in. The voices are clear and work normally, except the Word Builder component doesn't appear to be working. I've posted on the EastWest site as well, but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully got this to work in DP9. :?

I'm using EW Symphonic Gold Choirs with DP9.12 with no problems. When using EWSCG there should be a fourth menu in the Player window after the "MIXER" menu called: "WORDBUILDER". (This only appears after loading a voice.) If you don't see that, something is amiss. A couple of suggestions come to mind:
1. Try re-installing the program
2. Make sure you have the latest version of PLAY. I'm using 5.02 build c3312941
If that doesn't work, describe to me how you are loading the voices and I'll try to help.

Thanks, Charles.
I figured things out after re-installing. But...
The voices are playing and responding to WordBuilder, but they are transposed!!
The basses are sounding a half step too high.
The tenors are a minor 9 too high
Soprano and altos are a minor seven too low..
I've emailed their support, but so far no one knows why this is happening.
Have you come across this? Or can you suggest what might be the cause?

Thanks....and sorry for the slow response.

Hi Paul, yes, I have had that happen to me as well, but it's been some time and I don't remember what I did to resolve it (sorry). You've probably tried several things by now, but unloading and reloading the voices might help. The program is fairly memory intensive, so having lots of RAM in your computer helps.

Finally figured out and thought I'd post in case it helps anyone else. Using WordBuilder within the PLAY sample player plugin required for Symphonic Choirs requires that that you load "multis" and that there be a separate instance for each section of a choir. I had been using one instance and putting each section on a different channel. This doesn't work. Everything worked fine once I figured out the separate instance requirement. :)
