SSD issue

Post by Timeline »

I bought a new 2GB SSD supposedly comparable with the latest OS X but it will not upgrade to latest version os x. Window comes up and says drive the issue yet it runs fine, just not in Serra. Would a reformat work?

You need to do that if you intend to boot a Mac from it. If planning to use as an external drive, it's a very good idea and may cause problems if you don't.

If you are running Sierra, boot into the Repair Partition and run Disk Utility from there.

There are many threads on this issue. If you tell us exactly what you want to do, one of us can probably link to the right one.
