Can't "Save As" from DP to AudioDesk

Post by MartinBaird »

Hello All,
I had a three-day session last week with an instrumental quartet who probably recorded three to four hundred takes (parts of songs not entire songs at once) across three DP8 project files. Instead of bouncing out all of those takes for them to review before comping the takes together, I figured I'd do a SAVE AS for each project file and save them out as AudioDesk project files so they could review everything in AudioDesk which is a free download from MOTU. But DP 8.07 won't do a SAVE AS nor a SAVE A COPY AS.
After talking to MOTU tech it looks like this is probably an issue having to do with DP 8 not being officially supported on Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan which I'm running on a 2009 Mac Pro.
Unless anyone has any ideas how I can solve this, I was hoping I could send the three DP 8 project files to someone with DP 8 running on a supported Mac OS version or running DP 9 on a supported OS, and have them Save out each file as an AudioDesk 2.0 formatted file and send them back to me. I wouldn't be sending any audio files, just the small DP 8 project files.
Thanks very much for any help!
Martin

I remember that AudioDesk required MOTU hardware to be installed. I haven't looked at it since v.1 so I'm not certain this is still true.

Other than that, I don't know if AD 4 can open DP projects. I know that it doesn't have MIDI capabilities.

Thanks for your reply Mike. The MOTU tech support guy seemed to think I'd be good to go if I could get the files exported in the right format. Maybe I'll call again to ask for certain.

Yea, if they say differently, let us know. I'm remembering old info.
