How to stop Spectrasonics VIs volume jump

Post by waterstrum »

I know there is a workaround for this.
When I press play in DP 9.12 the volume slider in Spectrasonics plugs jumps to plus 10db.
I have turned off the automation etc.
I remember this was a bug or issue.

Thanks for reminding me how to fix it
All is well

Put a volume event before the beginning of the track and enable automation.

Some of Arturia's VI's do this as well...... very annoying! I've almost had my head blown off from the volume a few times..... :(

Another solution: Disable Event Chasing for CC#7 and CC#10.

Ooh that sounds like a great solution. Thanks!

Just went through this....again....with Omni and Kontakt and was reminded to go to automation setup, check the 'only' box and leave it blank. Then set it as the default for all new tracks.

Not in DP at the moment so hope this is right.

Now to tie string around my finger to remember this when it happens again.....

I just always enter a volume and pan command for every MIDI track so I don't get blasted! Spectrasonics VIs are SUPER HOT re: output level. I also turn down the virtual instrument automation volume level about -4 or 5db, to manage levels.

It's just become a habit.

Thanks for that solution.
I will try that.

Just to be sure...
If I add automation to those CC's... 7 and 10
Would that solution disable the automation chasing for those CC's?
So when I go to a new location in the sequence, those CC's won't be updated?

Thanks

It means that that last value set will be used until the sequence hits new cc data. Chasing is when the app looks for the last value used when locating to a new location and sets that value for playback. Unless I just don't know what I'm talking about. It happens!
