All Tracks Muting In Drum & MIDI Windows While In Solo Mode

Hello All,

I searched the site first but could not find an answer...

For some reason, when I go to the Drum or MIDI window and then press solo, all the tracks mute.

How do I resolve this?

Not sure exactly what's going on. There's a pref for solo behavior in the Preferences you could check.

if you're using a VI for your drum tracks, you may need to have the VI's window open to hear it. (not at my studio at the moment, but this is what comes to mind)

I found no such pref for solo. I would like to see these prefs though:

1. Solo mute follows automation
2. Mute Automaton active in solo mode

Well, yeah, I thought that's what the question was about...MIDI.

I wouldn't complain if this was available for audio tracks, however.

Check the feature requests I posted. I have wanted that forever. I'm trained on SSL automation and when you say solo 12 vocal tracks in SSL Automation, automating stays engaged so you can program mutes. Believe it or not DP used to do this back in OS9 days. It was freakin great and you could automate tight tracks fast without undoing the automation on 50 tracks and manually assigning them so you could get quickly to the tracks you wanted to program the mutes for. This was a production necessity and I feel to this day MOTU dropped the ball and sacrificed a true feature since those years probably to save money on programming.
