MIDI editing totally screwed in DP 9(.01)?!

Post by williemyers »

anybody seen *anything* like this??

if you check my post below, i tried using DP 9.02 and am getting constant crashing when trying to move MIDI data about in the TO. So I thought I would reinstall DP 9.01.

I've done that, and opened a new seq. with a single MIDI track. but, before even messing with adding a Kontakt Instrument, I thought I would try out just recording a few notes in to Bar 1 on that single MIDI track. I did that successfully but then, when I tried to drag the MIDI data in that track to Bar 5, it moved, but left (playing) duplicates of some of the original notes in Bar 1! That is, I originally played "C-E-G-E-G-E-C". And when I drug that block to Bar 5, it moved successfully, but left me with 3 x "E"'s in Bar 1!! And this is repeatable and happens in the TO and in the MIDI Editor!
Yikes! Anyone ever seen anything like this?

o.k - - update - - stay with me here....

I have two bootable volumes on this MacPro - - a 10.8.5 vol and a 10.11.3 vol. prior to yesterday, I had DP 8.07 successfully running on both.

this morning, I purchased dp 9.01 and installed it on 10.8.5. I only played back a few old seq. (no editing). then this evening, I d/l'ed DP 9.02 and installed it on 10.8.5. then I opened a new seq. as outlined in my prev. post and the crash-on-MIDI-edit began. then, I reinstalled 9.01 on 10.8.5 and dulpicate notes on MIDI edit began.
then in reinstalled DP 8.07 on 10.8.5 and the dulpicate notes on MIDI edit has continued. I am fairly sure that, whatever in DP9 is messing with MIDI edit, was not wiped out when I reinstalled DP 8.07

the only relief here is that, throughout all of this, I still have DP 8/07 on 10.11.3 and it's remained untouched and works as it always has - perfectly. I would really like to get it (DP 8.07) back on 10.8.5, but I don't know if I'll ever get rid of the offending DP file(s).

any thoughts?
