Most of the iFixit steps do not have to be done on any of the iMac servicing with one exception. It's (you guessed it) that NV RAM battery on the 2009-2010 iMac.

I bit the bullet and told them to put a new one in. It would suck to have it go dead in a few months, or sooner.
