No AU problems in DP with my whopping 4 or 5 hours of experience. MainStage still has AU validation problems with Melda plugs. Don't know about Logic:

Thats not good. Apple claims they fixed the plug issues using AU. Read the fix lists.

Apple may have fixed it but that doesn't mean that the plugin is compatible.

Certain plugs stopped validating in OS 10.5, 10.6, a lot stopped in 10.7 etc. Not one of these had an issue with 10.11 — or all of them would if they lasted this long.

I re-ran the Melda 9.12 installers, re-scanned, and all is well. I now know of no AUs, including those from NI, that don't pass validation. That includes the older 32 bit stuff. I no longer use anything from Waves.

I posted in other topics that I got my AlphaTrack working in El Cap by disabling SIP. That said some things are a little shaky. I think my Liquid Mix that's been working with 32 Lives might have its days numbered.

I have been dancing around El-Cap and DP9.01 to get the processing peaks under control. Raising buffer, nope. Changing virtual instruments to run in "pre-gen" or in "real time", nope. Reinstall of DP9, nope, can't do anything to repair permissions in the disc utility in El-Cap, so another nope. i-Defrag discs, nope.

AU's open and work fine. My issues have been with pegging the performance meter and overloading the computer with only one instance of Omnishpere loaded and one MIDI track, one stereo mix and still overloads. Same for any other VI's: Kontakt, PLAY, Superior Drummer, etc. This must me an El-Cap thing. And when I open the same project in DP8.06, it doesn't even run. Wish I wouldn't have updated OSX. Why I don't learn this lesson every time a new upgrade comes out, I have no clue. And I am not living by my engineer cree: "Don't fix it if it anin't broke". :smash:

Have you posted a tech link with MOTU support?

What do you see when you turn the background processing monitor on in DP preferences? I have used that to diagnose performance issues and found it most useful.

In 10.11, all of my plugs passed in Logic Pro X 10.2. When I went to OS 10.11,1, Logic scanned again but this time many passed like RX 5 and Ozone 6 but others did not such as RX 4 and Ozone 5. I'm pretty certain that the posted workarounds will do the trick but, since I use Logic as a conversion tool only. It doesn't matter to me what loads or doesn't.

DP 8 and 9 passed all without problems.

Problem with Line 6 audio - which would affect Pod Farm 2 of course:

We have discovered an incompatibility of the Line 6 USB audio driver version 7.3.8 and Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan. After updating to Mac OS 10.11 the Line 6 USB audio driver will no longer connect to hardware devices. Line 6 applications that rely on this driver, for example Line 6 Monkey, will therefore not process audio or allow hardware configuration changes.

We highly recommend you do not update to Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan in order to maintain correct Line 6 USB audio driver functionality.

We apologize for the inconvenience and we will publish an updated driver soon.

The following Line 6 devices are affected:

Bass POD® xt
Bass POD xt Live
Bass POD xt Pro
GuitarPort
POD HD
POD HD Pro
POD HD300
POD HD400
POD HD500
POD HD500X
POD Studio GX

Hey Mike-

I was about to post a tech link with MOTU, then I discovered the problem. The source of my woeful performance in DP9.01 was a VI. Spectrasonics' Omnisphere 2. It has not been updated to be as compatible with OSX 10.11, So I'll wait to use that plugin VI. All else seems to be fine and the background processing stays relatively normal.

Thanks for the write back.
