Trying to setup IAC driver, big trouble

Post by David Polich »

I've finally run into a job where I have to run IAC (inter-application MIDI) and I've never done this before. For starters, I seem to have lost my IAC driver from the Audio MIDI Setup. Anyone know where it actually resides? And/or where I can download it?

My second question is, does anyone know how to "activate" the IAC driver in Audio MIDI setup?

Thanks in advance.

The IAC driver is there in my Yosemite AMS MIDI window. The driver is located in Mac HD>System>Library>Extensions>AppleMIDIIACDriver.plugin. I've never had to configure it in the AMS window, which is something I've only done with plugs that generate MIDI data within the DP environment, so I just use the DP window to generate DP inputs and outputs. Sorry, it's been a while since I've done this; I hope this can help you get on track.

If you can't get the IAC driver going, look at Interapplication MIDI in DP. I've had this running at the same time as IAC, and both showed up in Logic. I guess they might turn out to be the same thing, but worth trying.

It's always just automatically been there on all my various setups.

This may help:

Not found at this place in both my 2 MacBookPros, under 10.10.5.
One MacBook behaves well with IAC, while the other does not.
I've double checked any difference I could point between both Mac setups, to not avail, yet.

To make it clearer: I used to set a C8 note in a special MIDI track, output set to IAC, to toggle play-pause, according to my user Command-window settings.

Any help or suggestion greatly appreciated.
