Very Minor issue in DP9... splash screen gone
The lovely splash screen NEVER appears since the update except for the very first launch. Not a big deal in and of itself, but it would seem that the launch is not going as expected and that is a bit of a concern. What else might it be missing...?
Re: Very Minor issue in DP9... splash screen gone
I have the splash screen. The one thing missing for me are the DP document icons. Hopefully all the graphic elements inside the program are okay, but I have not had time yet to fully dive in.

Re: Very Minor issue in DP9... splash screen gone
Now that's odd. My stopped showing up after updating to 9.0, and came back on its own (maybe after an OS update? Can't be sure) and remains after updating to 9.01. What the heck??!?

Weirdness is afoot. For some reason my system thought there were two instances of DP 9.01 installed (there was only one). I trashed the app, then reinstalled. Now it seems okay.

Both Splash Screen and doc icons fine here in 9.01
Splash screen was a bit iffy in 9.00 in as much as it always showed but button functionality was intermittent, also correct doc icons were absent. All seems fixed in 9.01 though

Are you saying that the splash screen AND icons are now okay after the reinstall? If so you're not the only one - I just did a reinstall of DP9.01 and I have both the splash screen and the icon back. Actually for me before the reinstall I had the splash screen most times but a couple of times it didn't show.billf wrote:Weirdness is afoot. How did you figure out your system thought there were two instances of DP9.01? That could help more here.

Reinstalled. Same thing - just the welcome screen. Disabled welcome screen, then nothing.Enabled welcome screen, splash screen appears. Quit-relaunch- splash screen gone again.
BUG!

Yes, both are working after I trashed it then reinstalled 9.01 (I did not reinstall 9.0). How consistent it will be remains to be seen.musicman691 wrote: Are you saying that the splash screen AND icons are now okay after the reinstall?
Right Click on a DP document, go to Open With. It will show all options for opening the file in the second section. The top section shows the default, followed by section two which shows all options. Mine had one instance of DP 8.07 and two instances of DP 9.01 in that second section. Trashing the app and reinstalling DP 9.01 direct (I did not reinstall 9.0) fixed it, and as you can see in this screen shot, the icons are fixed as well. The splash screen appears when I launch DP 9.01.musicman691 wrote:How did you figure out your system thought there were two instances of DP9.01? That could help more here.

Re: Very Minor issue in DP9... splash screen gone
Thanks for posting this. I do remember now having two entries for DP9.00; I don't remember having two for DP9.01 Interesting side note when I just did this it showed two entries for DP8.07! So I trashed the DP8.07 applications from my applications folder, cleared trash and reinstalled DP8.07 and all I show is the one entry for DP8.07 and one for DP9.01.billf wrote:Yes, both are working after I trashed it then reinstalled 9.01 (I did not reinstall 9.0). Re: Very Minor issue in DP9... splash screen gone
I think I may have found what's causing the DP icons to go blank, at least how it happened to me and how I got them back. When I reinstalled DP8.07 as I mentioned in my previous post here somehow it trashed my DP9 install so I re-installed DP9.01 and I got everything back as it should be. So I opened a project in DP8.07 that I started in DP9.00 and it opened okay as I used nothing specific to DP9.00. Closed the project and Quit DP8.07. Looked at the project icon and it was blank where just before opening the project in DP8.07 it had the DP9 icon. I right clicked on the icon and it was set to open in DP9.01 as the default. And it did open in DP9.01 no problem.
So I thought what the heck and reinstalled DP9.01 yet again and the icon was still blank. But, and here's another weird one, when I opened, saved and closed the same DP9 project as I used above the icon had returned to the DP9 icon.
And all this time the splash screen was okay.

Re: Very Minor issue in DP9... splash screen gone
The duplicate apps showing up in "Open With" may actually be an OS issue. I thought I read somewhere that Apple dealt with this in a Yosemite rev, but since I'm still running 10.9.5, I can't test it out yet.

Still happening here. MOTU confirmed it in a tech link.
