Hi all. This just started happening. when I playback recorded audio, the level meters both in the track window and the mixing window just pulsate at a random rate and peak into the red. This is in no way related to the information recorded on the tracks. It's not audible either, tracks play back fine. That bug is also transmitted to effect sends. I have an 828 MKll and a 2008 mac pro but I switched to the MAC's audio system to see and the problem persists.
I've re started everything, reset the MKll, disabled all inputs, no difference.
Higher wisdom needed here.

Never mind. Reset the PRAM for a third time and that fixed it.
