Bad news about 32 Lives wrapped VI's in DP9

Post by David Polich »

Just spent an hour testing repeatedly to confirm a major problem with GSI's VB3 organ
VI in DP9. This is also a problem with NI B4 II. Both are running "wrapped" with 32 Lives.

If you try to move anything on VB3's interface - a chorus switch, the volume knob, overdrive,
drawbars...anything...DP9 crashes immediately. Same with B4 II, and GSI's EG70 electric grand.

I went back to DP8, luanched an instance of all these VI's - smooth sailing.

I'm not even sure where to start looking for the culprit in this. I'm running the very latest version of
32 Lives.

Really bummed. Guess it's back to DP8 for any projects where I want to use these particular VI's.

Again... you made sure the effects windows aren't floating, right? I posted elsewhere on this board I'm having no problems and listed a bunch of my 32 bit plugs that work, including B4 II. I have B4 II, with 32 Lives, DP 9.0 and not happening for me.

Ahhh...I missed the part about disabling floating windows. Yes that fixed it.

That said...I got a reply from Soundradix...they are aware of the DP9 crash problem
and are working on a fix for it right now. They sent me a beta version of 32 Lives (1.08b)
which does indeed eliminate the crashing, even if you have windows set to float, but
it introduces some minor (not show-stopping) niggles with window behavior that they will
eliminate before they officially release 1.08.

Gotta give props to this company - they do indeed test their products with DP.
