Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
Heal separation isn't a MIDI command. It's for audio that's been separated and only works when the audio segments match the relative distance the were originally. It has nothing to do with MIDI AFAIK.

Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
It works in MIDI if the notes are butted up against each other, or overlapping. It doesn't seem to work if there's any distance between the two notes (on DP7.24, that is).

Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
I had no idea. Is there a manual? LOL. Thanks for the lesson, guys.
Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
I don't think it's for audio. That would be merge. As for MIDI, the manual says there cannot be space between the two things you want to put back together.

Thanks. I didn't realize that.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:It's definitely for audio.
If I understand Heal, it only works if the two audio sections were previously connected in the underlying recording. But in MIDI you can connect any pair of adjacent notes of the same pitch, not just a previously cut note.

Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
Select them, and use the Heal Separation command. There cannot be a gap between them. (A waste of time BTW -- just delete the second note and lengthen the first.)markthree wrote:thanks

Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
If there are hundreds of overlapping notes, it's a big time saver, actually. Granted, such a situation isn't very common (for me), but it has happened.bayswater wrote:(A waste of time BTW -- just delete the second note and lengthen the first.)

I use it all the time in the Quickscribe editor to merge and "Slur" adjacent notes...since i always work with the score in front of me it's handy...

Hey, that's interesting. I never used it within Quickscribe, but will definitely keep it in mind.markthree wrote:I use it all the time in the Quickscribe editor to merge and "Slur" adjacent notes...since i always work with the score in front of me it's handy...

Re: DP 9 impressions and issues thread
Sometimes notation programs will split extended notes. That's a really good tip in such instances and save a lot of time MIDI editing.
