wrong notes in quick scribe

Post by owlicksloo »

Hi all,

Never had an issue with this in the 10+ years of using DP, but all of a sudden I'm getting a bunch of wrong notes in quick scribe with a handful of files. Some of the notes displayed in quick scribe are a semitone off from the actual MIDI note. In other words, the accidentals are not showing up. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

DP 8.07 on latest Maverick OS.

Thank you.

Hard to tell what's really going on, but do you happen to have a MIDI plug-in enabled (Transpose) on a MIDI track?

Did you assign a Key Signature in the Conductor Track?

"Transpose" plugin on a MIDI track does not reflect in QuickScribe. Quickscribe uses the underlying MIDI data.

Well, I thought I'd ask because I'm still on DP7.24 and wasn't sure if things have changed since that version. Thank you for clarifying.

No transpose plugin, no key signatures. I'm tempted to reinstall DP or start trashing plists. This is bizarre.

Does the MIDI file play correctly? Is "Ignore Mistakes" ticked?

It does plays correctly. And no, "ignore mistakes" is not ticked - it's something I never use.

I was concerned about MIDI files exporting with the QS error, so I saved as MIDI file and opened in Sibelius and gladly it's fine there. But I use quickscribe all the time.
