I think the fix I remembered (then forgot, now remembered again) is to trash the Analysis Folder. Seeing as how he already did that, and it didn't work, maybe it's time for Tim's suggestion above: resave as a new project, copying the audio data along with it.
Oh... one other possibility, and I think I may have done this before: select the contents of the Soundbites Window, and convert to another format.
