Good point. I'll look into that after the session is done.

On my system where the Adobe Suite is not present, it Open with... Digital Performer.
It probably won't matter when DP launches, it will go and find that file and open it.
But I wonder if something in the Adobe installation is saying take this file type (which doesn't appear to have an extension ??) and claim it.

It's disconcerting that Disk Utility can't spot that and fix it.

Re: Strange DP8 file listing - claims it's Adobe!
Since it is a prefs file, something that's simply "read" by DP on launch, is it possible that the file was created in an Adobe program?

Re: Strange DP8 file listing - claims it's Adobe!
I've seen this happen a lot. Adobe is particularly adept at changing the Open With setting of other applications' files. Updating the Open With setting has always worked for me. I wouldn't have thought DiskUtility would deal with this.

Re: Strange DP8 file listing - claims it's Adobe!
I guess I was thinking it was something of a permissions problem, but that only applies to access by users, not apps. OK, I've said more than I know now... It doesn't seem to be harming anything, but it's not something I've seen before.
On the plus side, all else seems to be running well. There are some graphics issues with the Mac Pros others have seen, but that's another topic.

Might rebuilding Launch Services fix this? Just guessing.
