Two DP 8 and Yosemite bugs

Post by MIDI Life Crisis »

1- When DP crashes, it no longer phones home to report the crash details. The Apple reporter does kick in (most of the time) but no DP reporting. This can't be helping in reporting bugs to MOTU.

2- DP just hates it when a process such as bouncing, import, exporting, etc. is in process and you switch applications. More often than not this results in a crash and (as above) DP doesn't phone home to report the crash.

Techlink sent to MOTU.

Thanks for the heads-up, MLC. I'll definitely avoid switching apps while DP is doin' it's thing.

#1 Might not entirely be a Yosemite issue. All the crashes I've been having in Mavericks were not being phoned home-even though MOTU/DP's crash reporter came up with my email address auto-filled. It is possible that those crashes happened in such a way as to not be able to create a report.

But if Yosemite is co-opting the crash reporting and circumventing MOTU's access to them, well that might be a problem. Perhaps MOTU could offer a work-around to send crash reports (pasted from the OS ones).
