Lame error in DP7 - 10.6.8 OS

Post by Topo »

I've searched, but still can't sort this out. Pretty sure it began after installing DP8, but I've trashed the DP8 app (no uninstaller) and reinstalled DP7. Keep getting the "Mas, 0 error reported by LAME mp3....Could not open output file {-1}".

I've DL'd LAME 3.97 and put the folder into HD > Library > Frameworks >....no go Found some other LAME pkg, and installed it, but still no go

Actually, you can be certain of that. There are a few other threads that discuss this in depth.

No joy yet, finding a thread that helps.

Guess I'm gonna have to get in touch with DP support again. Running the DP7 installer is not working to restore the LAME function again. I remember that this *did* work about 6 months ago when I was on a project. But, something has mysteriously happened to my system......
......maybe it's urging me to upgrade my entire setup to DP8 and Yosemite. My short term workaround is to let Audacity convert to mp3.

I'm betting that you didn't run the Uninstaller before reinstall.

The 7.24 installer works best if you run the Uninstaller first. It's in the drop-down menu when you find Easy Install in the Installer. If you have the 7.24 CD, that's best as you only have to run it once.

If you have an earlier CD, run Uninstall from the 7.24 Updater, then run it from your CD. To reinstall, reverse the process: Install from the CD then the 7.24 Updater. You only need the 7.24 Updater and your CD–the in-between updaters are not necessary.

DP 8 does not have an uninstaller nor is it necessary as it installs over itself.

No change with that procedure...uninstalled 7, then reinstalled. Same error bouncing via LAME. Checked to see that the LAME framework is in the Frameworks folder.
