I couldn't say. To date I have had zero crashes in DP 8.06.

Quick help me find some wood to knock on.

Hey Phil...
I was in the zero crashes club too.
I got very relaxed about saving after each move.
About a week ago, I had DP8 just disappear after some move.
I think I was edge editing a soundbite, but it so shocked me that I'm not sure.
I'm embarrassed to say that my last manual save was 30 minutes prior to that.
My autosave was set to at least that interval.
I lost 30 minutes with lots of edits.
This was in a paid session with a very professional and gracious client.
Now I'm back to paranoia mode of saving after each change.
No crashes since then.
All is well

Ouch! I'm always paranoid. My autosave is set to 2 minutes. Oh no, I better set it to 1.

Thanks Phil...
You got me laughing.
Much appreciation to you and all of the posters here.
One crash in 3 months is pretty good.
DP8 is a great platform.
All is well

I'm a little late to reply to this, but... Have you run a RAM test?

MIDI Life Crisis wrote:On my system, it's never calling up a key command for a process or a window that crashes DP. DP 8 crashes are ALWAYS preceded by a mouse click. Could be clicking anywhere, but the one thing in common for all my crashes is a mouse click. Not every mouse click, and I dare say I've seen a few (very few) random crashes out of nowhere. But whether it's closing a window, adjusting a value, moving a note, or editing by hand, my crashes ALWAYS happen after using the mouse to accomplish something.

I know Shooshie and others have experienced issues with the magic trackpad (which I have but don't use) but that might beg the question of whether the "call to the cursor" by a pointing device is broken in DP or not?

Just a random thought. :unicorn:

Many times. It was the same on my G5. I suspect a conflict in the mouse driver (I use Steer Mouse) but DP has been very good with only one freeze (no crash per say, but force quit) in the last few weeks. So looking forward to what MOTU has up their sleeves next, however. :unicorn:
