DP 7.24 Phoning Home (Resolved)
Since upgrading to 10.9.4, DP asks to set my firewall preferences every single time I launch it. No combination of firewall or software update preferences will prevent this
dialog. I can live with this, but I'm already getting annoyed. Any suggestions?

It does not mean what you think it doess. Google "accept incoming Network Connections" and you will see.

Re: DP 7.24 Phoning Home
I haven't been able to get rid of that same irritating window each time I run VE Pro on one of my slaves since at least Lion.
I've also tried every combination in the Firewall settings (VEP is currently included in the "Allowed" category). The other computers, with identical settings, don't show the message. And I have never seen it for DP. Go figure...

Thanks for the replies. I'd forgotten that we've been down this road before.

Re: DP 7.24 Phoning Home
This article is about as concise as any.
http://www.cnet.com/news/applications-c ... nnections/
Sometimes, this is as simple as running Repair Permissions and rebooting. (you did that already, right? If not, do it now.)
You may have to uninstall and reinstall. If you have a 7.24 CD, run the installer till you get to Easy Install. Click on it and you will see Uninstall. Run it. When done, re-install. You may or may not have to reauthorize. Repair Permissions and reboot. This hurts nothing and will restore any paths that were corrupted during an OS update - I had to do this after 10.9.1.
If you do not have the 7.24 CD, run uninstall from the 7.24 updater, then again from your earlier version CD. Reverse to install (you do not need any of the interim updaters, only 7.24 plus your CD).

Re: DP 7.24 Phoning Home
Thanks for the suggestions, however none of them worked. What did work was deleting the ~/Library/Preferences/Digital Performer/Preferences file.
