DP trim plug 2dB increment ?

Post by daniel.sneed »

DP trim plug is set on all audio and aux tracks in my projects.

A single mouse click used to move +1dB or -1dB.
Now it's +2dB or -2dB.
Would like to go back to the 1dB increment. Any idea ?

Hmmm. I just checked in DP8 and a single mouse click on the plus or minus buttons move trim gain by 1 dB increments.

Anything weird about your mouse (a strange question I know...)? Could the mouse be doing some sort of double click operation?

+/- 2dB here, too. I just checked three input devices. Apple Magic trackpad, Apple wireless mouse and Kensington USB Trackball.

2db here too. But I can see it change 1db at a time, twice in rapid succession for each click, so possibly something to do with one of the trackpad or mouse settings.

I hope you're right and will investigate further.

I've noticed this behavior as well. I think it began in 8.

No attempt to change mouse settings has effect on increment value.

IMHO, when setting a rough premix, 1dB increment is much more relevant than 2dB.
In case you need 2dB, you can click twice...

I agree it should be 1 db. But I think there is something in the way DP is interpreting a mouse click rather than a change in the design of Trim. I checked the Windows version and it works properly.

I believe, my mouse is definitely out of the game, here.
Exact same behaviour with MacBookPro trackpad.

Should I go Windoz? Just joking...

You can click on the gain window to highlight it and type in a value. Just sayin'...

Thanks, David. But I already do to adjust soundbite levels in a single track.

Trim plug is my *premix* tool.

Behavior unchanged here in 8.05. Still 1 db increments using either stock mouse or Kensington trackball to click.

Hmm. Your sig says you're still on 10.7.5. I wonder if it's an OS thing. I'm seeing 2dB increments as well on my Mavericks machine. I'm not at my Snow Leopard machine right now, but will check it out there at some point.

Just tried it on Snow Leopard. Works fine there.
