Hey Guys,
Sorry for the problems. I believe this is an issue only with the 64-bit version of Audio MIDI Setup. As a workaround, select the Audio MIDI Setup application icon and do a "Get Info". Then select the checkbox corresponding with "Run in 32-bit Mode". This should fix your issue.
Hope this helps,
Michael

Thanks for the suggestion, Michael! Not at the studio now but can't wait to try this.

Thanks Echopoint.
Great tip!
My AMS is back, clean and tidy, at last.
And this one has been puzzling me for long.

I'm still in the mode of avoiding 64bit wherever possible. It has caused me nothing but grief.

How do I like to work? Out of my "StudioInABag" of course; FūL backpack (awesome), MacBook Pro (11,3) 2.5Ghz i7/16gb/500gb/Mavericks, lots and lots of drives, Mbox2Pro, DP, PT, Logic (hardly touch it), Komplete, Reason, too many plugs and VI's to list, Akai LPK25, Korg nanoPAD, wireless keyboard/mouse, Sennheiser 650HD phones...basically i pull four cables out of the bag, hook to the laptop, and go!

Yeah, but you know what... I didn't even know that option existed. When I moved over from my G5 to my Mac Pro with SL this started happening. 64-bit was enabled by default it seems. Wish I'd know what was causing this sooner!

Thanks so much for this tip -- I implemented the suggestion, and it appears that this solves my AMS problem that I thought would go away (but didn't) when I started from scratch with a new Intel MacPro last November.
I'll know for sure when I boot up my home computer tonight after work, but a couple of launches last night seemed to indicate that AMS is now tidy!

It wouldn't be. From what I understand you'd have to be running SL on an Intel Mac to see this option.

Re: Audio MIDI Setup doesn't remember arrangement...NOT RESO

Hello,
For the first time in many years, I have lost my Audio MIDI Setup configuration. I tried searching here and got this thread. I figured I could restore my Audio MIDI Setup from my last Time Machine backup, when everything worked. I tried the solutions in this thread, including finding the AMS file residing in the User/Library/Audio/MIDI configuration folder and restored that from my backup. That did not work. Can anyone hear please tell me how to do this, so I don't have to recreated everything from scratch?
Thanks for any help.
