Sonnox Group Buy at DontCrack ?

Postby DontCrack » Mon Nov 23, 2009 12:56 pm

Dear Friends,

I am today soliciting your attention as we are actually working with our friends at Sonnox to bring what we believe might be, the most exiting promotion ever proposed at DontCrack.com

As you all know, Sonnox Oxford Plugins are considered to be among the highest quality audio plugins ever made for professional studios, producers, musicians, etc.

We are now negotiating with Sonnox to make these plugins available to all, via an attractive Group Buy promotion and we would greatly appreciate your feedback to evaluate what would be an "attractive price" and how many products we might sell at that price, and also what would be the best period to run the promotion (Before or after the holiday season), etc.

We're almost ready to start, but as always we at DontCrack like to rely on customer feedback before launching new products or hot promotions. We analyze and inform manufacturers about users requests making sure our product offers are bull's-eye in the target... We sort of act as an interface between users and manufacturers in order to aim at customers demand...

The Sonnox promotion will be held as a "group buy" offer that will run for a very limited time period (about 10 days). The goal is to reach 50% discount, if enough people sign up, on any of the 9 bundles shown bellow (3 bundles for each format).

On this first draft, we'd need to sell over 300 pieces (any of the following bundles) to reach the 50% discount that has never been proposed by Sonnox or anyone else... Some prices have been rounded down to make it even more attractive ;-)

The questions are :

1- Are these the right bundles to promote?
2- What would be the best time period to run this group buy offer (before or after holiday season)
3- If the 50% goal was reached, would you jump on that incredible deal?
4- Any other comments are welcome

Please let me know if you have any questions

All the best - Peter

Once again, I got fooled by the unfortunate similarity of the re-branded Sony Oxford plug-ins to Sonnox at the same time that my friend Jennifer Hruska re-branded Sonic Implants to SONiVOX.

However, after my initial disappointment that this is NOT a Group Buy for her excellent symphonic libraries, I got excited again by possibly adding a couple of Sonnox plugs (probably the Dynamics plug-in as it is still a bit unique in the industry).

Keep up these great deals at Don't Crack!

I first became aware of you a few years ago when I purchased a bunch of Nusofting plug-ins. I bought them all from your site, and felt confident from the start due to your name, after so many false hits (I wrote the vendor about all the bootleg sites I found for their stuff).

Hi mhschmieder,

Thank you so much for the kind words and your trustfulness. We will definitely try to keep up with attractive deals in order to support great audio software manufactures while struggling against software piracy (as our name does imply indeed ;-)

Your testimonial is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards - Peter

I posted a reply earlier today to this topic at Gearslutz but now the thread is mysteriously gone! (What a weird place Gearslutz is!!)
Anyway, my thoughts were that I'd love a group buy for these plug-ins but what I'd prefer would be a 2 or 3 plug-in bundle mix 'n match of your own choosing. I'm really interested in the EQ, Compressor and Reverb, but am not as interested in the other plugs.

just my 2 cents... thank you at Don't Crack for these great deals. :D

Definitely have the group buy before the end of the year so we can expense it on this year's taxes. I'd be in!

Hi Peter!
Nice to see you here again.

1- Are these the right bundles to promote?
Great bundles but I'd like to buy one like this:
Oxford Inflator , Oxford EQ , Oxford Limiter.( Native)
2- What would be the best time period to run this group buy offer (before or after holiday season)
Before the Holiday.
3- If the 50% goal was reached, would you jump on that incredible deal?
Yesssss!!
4- Any other comments are welcome
I hope to see that promotion with the bundle above.
Thanks Peter and Motunation!

1- Are these the right bundles to promote?
Not for me. I'm a mix engineer, so I'd like the EQ, Dynamics, and Inflator, but NOT all seven plugs from the Elite bundle. Maybe a buy 2 get this much off, buy 3 get this much off, buy 4, etc... would be the best deal and allow users to pick which plugs they want.

2- What would be the best time period to run this group buy offer (before or after holiday season)
Before the end of the year.

3- If the 50% goal was reached, would you jump on that incredible deal?
Yes, if I could get the plugs I wanted without having to buy a bunch of extras.

4- Any other comments are welcome
I've wanted to get these plugs for a very long time, but they've always been price prohibitive... or at least not a big enough priority. These are industry standards and I'd be delighted to pick these up at 50% off. Let us know where you're at with Sonnox on this. I'd really like to know if this is gonna happen.

Hi Guys,

I apologies for the delay getting back. We encountered so many issues getting this hot promotion on the rails but we're finally there... The Sonnox group buy is now 'officially" open from the this link.

We were very surprised to see that some of you found the link as we were working on the group buy page these past days. Some of you even committed to purchase a Sonnox bundle before the GB was officially launched ;-) That is so funny !!!

The group Buy will run from December 1 to 13, 2009 and 5 days will be made available for subscribers to purchase the product they committed to buy (from December 14 to 18, 2009).

We sure did monitor all that has been said in this topic and while we unfortunately can't please everyones request we hope to offer a great opportunity for as many of you to get a real good deal on some of the hottest plugins ever made !

It is obviously not easy to negotiate with one of the most renown audio plugin manufacturer on the market but Sonnox proved to be comprehensive and curious concerning our marketing strategies. But some of our requests simply wasn't possible to negotiate due to complicated technical and/or licensing issues...

We will therefore not be able to offer on demand bundles or upgrades from this group buy offer and we apologies for those who posted such requests...

Also following users feedback, we will modify some of our group buy rules to make things more flexible concerning purchase commitment. While we and our partners do expect subscribers to play the game once the group buy ends, we are no FBI agents and black listing customers email that wouldn't follow-up buying the product they committed to buy (for what ever reason) certainly does make us feel very uncomfortable... That will be removed !

We engaged quite ambitious negotiations as we now need over 300 subscribers to reach the +50% discount. But looking at our previous promotions, we are very confident that this unique Sonnox group buy will do more then well with the first bundles that should reach the attractive price of only $270...

As an extra bonus, Sonnox has authorized us to round down prices as shown in the graphic bellow.

Image

Well there we are. Typically companies like Sonnox don't like to see their products discounted but they followed-up with us at DontCrack as we have committed to buy a quite huge quantity of plugins what ever happens. This time we sure do count on your very active participation letting all of your musician friends know about this exciting group buy offer while making sure the 50% discount WILL be reached  That is one promotion we should not see elsewhere in a close future...

As always, please do let me know if you have any questions.

All the best - Peter
