Whats the best speaker switcher to use diff sets of speaks?
I have a Tascam Dm24 and it doesnt have the capability to switch between different studio monitors. I'd like to be able to hear mixes on different speakers.
what do you guys use / recommend?

i've never been happy or thrilled with the sounds of PRESONUS ... but if there isn't going to be any DA conversions, i guess its just a throughput at this point....

I wouldn't use a Presonus piece, either.

Bryston makes 4 different speaker switchers, which I assume you are talking about... a switch between an amp and multiple speakers.
If you are switching between amps or powered monitors with or without level control, I'd look at the Colemans or Goldpoints. I love Arn at Goldpoint.

Is the Dangerous Music gear too over the top or do the Bryston boxes have any appeal to you?
I'm just trying to get a fix on which way you want to go, what you've tried, what you might be working with now. Dangerous and Crane Song are clear steps up, but the altitude (financially speaking) doesn't appeal to everyone.
well .. eventually I'd like to get outta the DM24 and go with an analog board and APOGEE converters (or Lynx) ... but I'm using the DM24 for the onboard verb and ease of the TDIF cabling and things. Although, my screen is almost COMPLETELY unreadable now!

I think it depends on what Presonus pieces you are comparing. Their mic pres and ADA converters, I would agree, but the Central Station is a completely passive unit - no opamps or converters in the path (unless you are specifically using the onboard DA). It's basically a straight, clean path.wonder wrote:IMO, presonus is a MAJOR step down in quality in regards to the steps I'm trying to take to get a more REAL sound in the mixes I'm hearing.
That said, then certainly Coleman, Crane Song, Dangerous are certainly going to be better, no question - just depends on how much you want to spend on a solution.
