PHil, although I can't yet speak with the authority a few weeks of work will provide, the fact that Waves MAS exhibited flakey behavior in 5.1 that the AU versions appear to avoid causes me to suggest you at least consider making the switch.

The increased performance may be due to Pre-Rendering, which is supported under AU (but NOT supported under MAS)for Waves.

Only downsides I've noticed to AU Waves so far is the nominally increased time it takes instantiate a plug in on an audio track and the somewhat strange behavior of the Tune Lite timeline (even after ReWire is running). Also, once I started running Waves AU, I had to start using AutoTune AU as well,...
