Re: stems in a 5.1 mix
I'm sorry. yes for film. Basically what I did was take a finished mix then convert it to 5.1 and realized that I could not subgroup stuff together (overheads, music, fx) as I had it. The way I work is to control volume mostly. It was just easier at points to automate the sub fader instead of always ...

stems in a 5.1 mix

I've seen some of the basic guides that cover placements of different sound fields but hoping to get into some details on how you would apply stems to a 5.1 mix. I have not used another DAW s...

My set up is simple. How many ports would you think a big studio would need to get it all hooked up

I wonder how many people will fill up 6 usb & 4 Thunderbolt ports. I would think that they have a handle on the future of graphic cards and where tech is heading or they would not have made this decision. If not this one may come back to byte them

5.1 compressor
Is there a recommendation of a plug-in or suite that is specifically for 5.1 mixing. Motu does not ship with a 5.1 compressor. the limiter is good but not what I was looking for.

Plus+ I love the space saving on studio desk top, I'm sure it's fast enough. I have never looked into it but I would think that you could have more customization with specialized units (PCIe, thunderbolt expansion)
Minus- I am running out of room without investing in rack mount.

Re: DP has won my heart
I tried to switch to Logic from Performer but got so frustrated. The irony to me is DP operates logically to me as did Performer all those years. It's as simple or complex as you want to operate it.

Love the AC-30. Using it on a VI and really made a huge difference. Got some pretty good bass sounds with Live Room B. Can't wait to have time to dig into that one

Re: Anyway to close all open windows in DP?
I am not sure how I did it but I managed to have 6 or 7 plug-in windows open all buried behind the consolidated window. More than once so I started looking when I thought about it. Must be a bad habit of not completing the action
