Re: Stillwell Audio Plug-in's
Like others, I use The Rocket a lot in my rig. Works well with DP.

Re: Can I put markers inside an audio track?
Not markers in the traditional sense, but you can do this by setting sync points. Instructions on sync points is covered on p 348-349 in the DP7 manual. Pretty easy, very similar to Pro Tools.
Good luck!

Re: What Standard DP Plug-ins are usable
It's such a common practice to insert a ~40ms on bass and percussive instruments to augment the attack, yet with DPs basic plugin set, there is no way to do this (unless you frankenstein a MW-EQ to act like a single band). You could use the compressor within Pre-Amp 1 to accomplish this. It has lon...

Re: Thinking of Upgrading - Notation Editor Question
You might be able to get DP7 now and get DP8 upgrade free later. From the page on the MOTU website: Retail pricing, upgrade pricing, and availability for DP8 will be announced later, but if you purchased DP7 on January 19, 2012 or later, you can receive the DP8 upgrade at no charge. http://www.motu....

May be obvious, but by chance, did you press Ctrl while working the scroll wheel? That will zoom in or out of the screen.

Re: G5 just died without warning - won't power on
This happened to me, with my G5. When I took it to the repair shop, they said it could be the logic board or the power supply. And a logic board was going to cost in the neighborhood of $500 to replace.
So I got my 8-core.

Re: Crashed Twice Last night
Hey Pappy - Is this all that the log says? If not, can you go back to these crash logs and see what is says about thread 15? That beginning part will tell you what crashed, but you may need to scroll way down to see the detail about it.

I'm on DP7 now, but I had absolutely no problems with DP 6.03 on SL. I'd update all plugins first, and if problems persist, grab 7.

The optical input on the Saffire can be ADAT or s/pdif. Could it be set to s/pdif?

Personally making decisions on what you do to entice new paying customers, or to help paying customers make the choice to use DP based on pirates IMO is a lose lose scenario. They --> :arrrr: aren't going away, but paying customers will if all they get online is forum posts about how awkward DP is ...

Re: Batch Importing?
Yes, you should be able to just drag n' drop the wave files onto the sound bites window. And yes, DP 4 will not import the wave files directly, but will convert them all to SD II files.

Re: Final Cut Pro X released today! 6/21/11
A number of the concerns involve the lack of a full suite of audio tools. I don't know that's a problem. I would think the pro has Logic, ProTools or DP, gets the audio in semi-finished form then finishes it in FCP-X. Well, that itself is part of the huge concern. You have all of the production aud...

I figured you knew, Bill. My wife's invested in some, too. Just wanted to head off any possible confusion since almost all plugin talk 'round here is about audio.
