Re: Error message "Master Pointer was nil (-109)"
Never, ever, EVER write to zeros on an SSD. Let's be real. The lifespan of a SSD is greater then the time you'll probably own it. There are times when zeroing a m.2 SSD is the only current way to solve a specific issue with write times slowing down dramatically. The life span of an m.2 drive is may...

Re: Error message "Master Pointer was nil (-109)"
Thanks for pointing out this is a known issue. I did see where someone had figured it out but not much else was posted about it. I would really like to see MOTU do more with Clippings (which was, and still is a good idea). I think something like a Logic's Bin but obviously still with the flexibility...

Re: Error message "Master Pointer was nil (-109)"
Here's the deal - Make sure that you didn't all of a sudden put too many items in your "Clippings" folders. That WILL cause this exact error message to pop up right after DP gets through scanning plugins. I'll make a video showing you this happening if it's that necessary. It doesn't mean ...

Re: Repairing Permissions in El Cap to fix VST/AU verificati
PS: Howz that blistering PCIe SSD array performing for you? It's still smokin! And I suppose surprisingly, it's been quietly reliable. Crazy how I was using hard drives one year, SSDs the next and BAM, that monster came out of nowhere. You don't see that kind of thing very often. Combine that with ...

Re: Repairing Permissions in El Cap to fix VST/AU verificati
I went to the Mac area, looked around and didn't see any mention of repairing permissions for apps crashing at VST verification. So, I left a quick post. If it's old news then it will be ignored. If it's been posted somewhere else and I missed it or didn't find it in a search then so what. I don't c...

Re: Repairing Permissions in El Cap to fix VST/AU verificati
There are many threads on this. Here it is in the Tips Sheet http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=6480&p=527222&hilit=10.11+permissions#p527222 Jeez Mike - Enough is enough. God forbid I post something that doesn't meet your DP power user standards. This was a bit more s...

Repairing Permissions in El Cap to fix VST/AU verification
So, as everyone knows Apple removed Repair Permissions in El Cap in both Disk Utility and the Terminal, but the ability to verify/repair is still available in the Terminal as a command. There's a good reason to use it if you use a lot of programs that verify and access plugins such as AUs and VSTs. ...

Re: El Cap with Inner App Audio VS Mavericks stability and s
As for getting audio to & from your iOS device, there are very good options without needing El Cap. Secret Base Design has their MUSIC i/o apps, for example. You install something on your mac and something on your iOS device and you can run audio & MIDI between them. I'm trying to make a li...

El Cap with Inner App Audio VS Mavericks stability and speed
I was a the end of this long post when the webpage just decided to refresh, and I hhad to start over. Fun! Basically I’m concerned about upgrading from Mavericks 10.9.5 to El Cap 10.11.4. I’ve read reports that it’s slower that 10.9.5. I’ve heard it’s less stable. I’ve heard rumbling that Apple is l...

FIX "Do you want the application “Vienna Ensemble Pro to ac
Hello all - I came up with a nice little workaround for the nagging "Do you want the application “Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (64-bit).app” to accept incoming network connections?" issue. It seems to be working for everyone who's tried it. I posted it on the VSL forum. If you're using VEP y...

MicroBook IIc with iPad question - help please!
I have a question about using an iPad with the MicroBook IIc and Digital Performer. If I connect my iPad to the MicroBook via the Lightening to USB to Micro B USB connector, then connect the MicroBook to my MacPro via the USB B to USB input, will Digital Performer be able to record the iPad digitall...

Re: Christmas cross-grade special for Falcon: $149+$100 vouc
OK, I see where you would want to send someone custom samples. Could be useful. But putting the thread all back together, we get a scenario that seems a bit remote to become a priority for a DP release, and there are lots of easy workarounds. I've been with MOTU since the beginning and obviously I ...
