Re: Schitt DACs

For years my primary interface was an Apogee Rosetta 800. It was their flagship model for some time. It's a firewire device using Apple's firewire driver, which has been removed from current Mac OS. So, my older trash can Mac is still used for tracking with the Apogee and a Lynx Aurora, but I was lo...

Re: Custom key commands - a cautionary tale

Quite a few years back I recall having a keyboard player in the studio and having the same (or similar) problem. I can't remember if it was F#3 but I do remember it was an F#. I screwed around for a while and finally called MOTU. The person I spoke to immediately knew the problem and told me that a ...

Re: Digital Performer 11.3 released!

I know what they're talking about though. I've had that happen where I changed it to open with the latest DP version by default and it didn't "stick." Another thing you could try is control-clicking the DP document and selecting "Open With" from the pop-up. Once opened and saved...

Re: Digital Performer 11.3 released!

Get info (in the finder) on the file and select "Open With" [proper version of DP].

Then check the box "Use this app to open all documents like this one."

Worked for me.

Re: DP11.22

Regarding migrating windows: I sent MOTU a screen recording of this yesterday, just got informed that they've reproduced the bug in-house (again) and they are in the process of addressing the issue (again). I think this may have been fixed in 11.3. Things appear to be working correctly on my end... ...

Re: Sonoma compatibility

Thanks, Mike.

This encouraged me to do a little digging and I found that Finder was assigned to desktop 1. Setting it to All or None solves the problem.

See, even when you didn't have the answer you helped me solve the problem. That's what we love about you!

Re: Sonoma compatibility

Two things that haven't been fixed in 14.1.2 or Are they even broken? 1) James mentioned in another thread the annoying thick cursor in Text Edit. I have found it to be system wide for Mac apps or mac processes. Still present in this update. 2) The apple menu is properly populated in space one, but ...

Re: Possible Out of Phase issues

Some have touched upon this, but just to be clear, time displacement and phase are related but NOT the same. Time displacement issues can sometimes be mitigated by inverting the phase but this is not necessarily indicative of an out of phase (i.e., 180 degree) track. One needs to be cognizant of the...

Re: Fine tune Audio I/O Timing

Nudging the Recording by 10 samples as recommended by pg 35 of the Getting Started guide resulted in the audio coming back more than 1/2 a beat late. I recall having similar issues a while back. I never got the adjustments to do what the numbers said. A sample was never the length of a sample. Ten ...

Re: 8Pre USB PAD disabled

I'm pretty sure (I could be wrong, but pretty sure) that the pad is in the mic preamp stage. So, when you plug in a 1/4" cable you are not using a mic and have bypassed that stage. That's my take anyway. What is your application where you need to use a pad with a 1/4" input? Your friendly ...

I've noticed the same thing. It could just be my imagination but I think I've seen in other apps as well. I had thought it was a Sonoma bug. :?
But I agree. I hate it as well.

Re: Sonoma compatibility

Even in this condition, I still have latency as I’m playing, live from my keyboard into my virtual instruments. Have you checked your MIDI patch thru settings? Depending on how you monitor while you're playing it can affect timing. Read the pop up description when you hover over "Sync recorded...

I use this all the time when I'm editing in the SE. No need to keep switching windows. I rarely use the channel strip.
