Re: Bounce To Disk Window half off screen
I was kind of curious if there was a way to invoke the "green button" with a keyboard shortcut to force the window to some new dimension that matches the display. There might be a way to get the system prefs to let you enter a keyboard shortcut for this. Then you can COMMAND-~ (tilda?) to...

Re: Bounce To Disk Window half off screen
Yes, it's been a while. I already tried that & tried the old "Detect Displays" trick. Seems as though Mavericks doesn't respond the same as Snow Leopard (never used any of the Lion variants, so I can't say about those). I guess the good news is that I can get to the settings I need, bu...

Bounce To Disk Window half off screen
Anyone know how I can move it when the top half of the window is "behind" the menubar. Kind of frustrating.
DP 8.06, Mac OS 10.9.2
Thanks.

Re: UAD Apollo
It could very well have been the specific unit. I will say that the front panel knobs (master volume & 2 headphone volumes) were a bit flimsy...I would not call them "high quality" by any stretch. It was a decent piece of gear, but it wasn't anything I would classify as super high-end....

Re: UAD Apollo
I'd been thinking of selling my HD192, 24 I/O, and Millennia HV-3C preamp to get into an Apollo, but sounds like letting go of the Millennia would be a mistake. From what I experienced, I would say so. As I said, I'm not sure if that's indicative of all the units. It certainly didn't instill me wit...

Re: UAD Apollo
I used one last week for 2 choral sessions for some video game soundtracks. The composer just got one and insisted we use it for the recording instead of my interface (but I used DP for tracking...not wanting to mess around with anything else). It was very nice, but there was a very distinct & n...

Re: Need some Vocal production tracking examples.
I did something similar to that with a young, female pop "singer". The producer insisted on recording chunk by chunk and then assembling it later. I thought he was kidding...but he wasn't. It was mind numbingly boring. I never got a feel for the vocal track...even after hearing each phrase...

I may have to give MasterWriter a whirl. Thanks for the tip.

Re: I hate writing lyrics
And I think MasterWriter belongs in the toolbox of any aspiring songwriter: http://www.masterwriter.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; May I ask how you utilize it in your workflow...and did you have a computer centric workflow before adopting MasterWriter?? I just can't ...

Re: I hate writing lyrics
I'm way late to this party - been away from the board for a while. A book suggestion for you: Writing Better Lyrics by Pat Pattison. Pat was my lyric writing teacher at Berklee. A great guy with tons of great insight into getting lyrics out of you and onto the paper. He taught me to really love the ...

Re: Anyone know how to download an Mp3 from page that plays it?
Alternatively, you can just drag items from the Activity window into the Downloads window. I can't get anything to drag out of the Activity window, Jim. I can drag from the address bar into the Downloads window though. Kind regards. You can: option-click the item in the Activity window select the i...

Re: DP 7 stability with 10.5.x
7.02 with 10.5.8 on a 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo MBP (17"). No problems for me, but I really stick to audio and rarely use MIDI or VIs.
Have to say, upgrading from 5.13 and find DP7 to be far superior. Snow Leopard is the next update after I finish some live recordings next week.

Re: Need a MOJO compressor
I don't know if Anthony DeMaria is still in business, but one of the nicest comps I've ever used is my ADL SCL 1500. Great for tracking and great as a final 2-bus comp. Sweet and punchy with a definite vibe to it. I've had this one about 10 years now. If you want a similar sound for less money - che...

Re: Is DP 7 worth it?
To James's point: I think the traditional idea of recording has changed. And it started a while back when the studio started to become the writing room. Now, with DAWs, there's no need for real instruments or even other musicians about 90% of the time. You can compose, arrange and record at the same...

Re: DP7 AIFFs crashing Sound Grinder 3.3
Only thing I can think of is byte order. Maybe SoundGrinder expects one type and DP7 is exporting the other. Intel Macs prefer Little-Endian, PPC Macs require Big-Endian byte order. I haven't yet installed my DP7 update (it's just sitting here waiting for me to finish a project), so I can't check. B...
