Wow

Got M5v2 upgrade last night. 1 - Installation is relatively painless. A little concerned when I saw the "chip on a card" that I had to insert in my iLok, but smooth as silk it was. 2 - The sounds are OK. Not blow your mind great. Not embarrassing. Certainly enough "to get going with&q...

Re: M5/2 My first impressions - Included Samples

... This is my very own subjective take on M5 and I reserve the right to be wrong! :D Wave I found the MP3 samples to also be a bit flat sounding. Nothing blows me away... http://www.motu.com/products/software/machfive/mp3.html Agreed. The string pieces sound sorta 'synthy'. Could be though that I ...

Opinions on MacAudioLab Training?

Hi folks. Does anyone have an opinion on the DP5 MacAudioLab training? I find that type of stuff useful and have used other company's products for Logic, Kontakt, FCP, etc. I even had CSi's DP 4 interactive CD which I thought was pretty ok at the time. Anyway, these products can be done "right&...

I just found my receipts! I purchased 2 days before the new cut-off date: Jan 18, 2005. GRRRRR! I feel like Charlie Brown! Does this mean it might be worthwhile to see if I can get the free update, as I ought to? You've got nothing to lose by asking...... I emailed in my info this evening and got a...

Loving my rig... and by way of introduction, I'm Tommy, I've been a long time reader, but never really had anything to contribute, although many an issue has been headed off at the pass by perusing the forums. In any case, I'm rocking: 2.66 MacPro (refurb from Apple) w/9GB of RAM (am thinking about...

One more thing: Apple made this transition between platforms amazingly easy. I don't think there has been such a transition in the history of computing that went so smoothly. This is one for the record books, the annals of computing. Apple deserves an award for this. Shooshie Here. Here. Seconded....

Hi. Recently upgraded to a new intel machine from a DP 1.25ghz G4 w/ 1.75G ram. Have been saving up since KORE arrived as many/most of the presets choke the machine.... All I can say is ... WOW. The extra power (particular if you use plugs alot) is amazing. The machine does not break a sweat on any ...

Isn't it funny in a way that the big knock on the PPC processors was the heat issue. Now it seems like Intel is dealing with the same thing. It seems that perhaps as computer become more and more powerful, the big issue is going to be cooling these beasts. What's funny is that I've never had heat i...

Re: 1 july huh....

Hi, I sent you a PM 1 July? No way to make that the day of the announcement....? (Full disclosure: I rejoined Unicornation on 4 July...) In any case, very nice sounding VSTI. I like the sound much better than Pianoteq's plugin. --- Roel / 4Front Technologies Roel, I understand. It is what it is. Gr...

1 july huh....

Hi RCory, Normally such discounts actions are for a limited time (often 1 month or less). Since this discount is for UnicorNation members only we had two acceptable solutions: 1 - Offer a general discount coupon which would expire within 14-30 days. It would have been easy but there would have been...
