Could the hard drive/SSD be slowing things down?

What other VIs and plugs are loaded? Are you distributing them across cores? Are you tracking with a low buffer and playing back with a high buffer?

And presumably Kontakt and PSP stuff opening in it as well? I just don't see the need at the moment. Again, MachFive 3 does pretty much all I need, so why spend the money? Now the Korg WaveState... THAT I can spend the money on.
