Re: Buying DP now or wait?
They just said their focus was on improving v11. I interpret that to mean they are struggling with some of the features they want to include in v12, mostly likely the Dolby Atmos implementation. They do offer a grace period as someone said, I think six months. Are there features in v11 you need tha...

I totally know better but I can't help being the opposite. Re: Buying DP now or wait?
It's very possible that DP12 comes out in the next 6 months, that would fit past patterns of release. So the choice depends on whether or not you will be disappointed if you buy outside the period where it would be free, mostly this is a three or one month period, can't remember what MOTU offer? if ...

Re: VST2 & VST3
Michael Canavan: You have been hugely generous with your time and skills, but now I think I'm pushing your buttons a little. And I don't mean to. But I'm not changing my story. It might sound to you like I'm whining "I don't wanna" and I can see that. If the DAW and the tools integrated w...

Re: VST2 & VST3
And I think you see my frustration: I don't want to write responses to good people who are trying to offer assistance. I don't want to explain to tech support where my conflict lies. I want to work on THE PROJECTS! Thanks again, Jim Westlyn There is no difference between learning how to use a mixin...

Re: Buying DP now or wait?
Hello. I am thinking of buying DP as of today (version 11.31) but I am unsure if it will soon come out version 12. To wait or not? Are you upgrading or buying it for the first time? If for the first time, it's 100% logical to wait until they announce version 12 to buy 11, (maybe at Sweetwater etc?)...

Re: Plug-in Updates Sticky Topic
I have a license so I suppose I should try it—would be nice if Audio Hijack wasn't a complicated waste of time in my work. OK I'm curious, why is that? I use it for two reasons, to capture audio from any application on my Mac, and to host ARC so I don't have to worry about turning it off when mixin...

Just noticed this tonight. Re: VST2 & VST3
Hey Guys: The thread has gone off in another direction - more Apple/Mac oriented - and I'm a Windows 10 guy. So, I thought I would start again. I can find no way to get both VST2's and VST3's to work together. With all your helpful advice, I'm getting nowhere. Each time, I make any change in the Pr...

Re: The Future of Digital Performer
Hey one thing I'm curious about is how you got the Applications fro 2.72 and 2.9 in the same machine? or is it just that the Komplete Kontrol AU plugin for 2.7.2 can use the back end of the 2.9 KK application and runs in Rosetta natively? Currently I have the latest 3.2.1 AU and VST 3 and the 2.9.4 ...

Re: Sonoma 14.4 crash/kernel panic/reboot with Kontakt 7
Understanding that recent Mac purchasers may have no choice but Sonoma, the current angst reminds me the "lag one version of macOS" strategy is still good one whoever possible. Current issues has me making sure to hang onto K6, too, although K7 is working fine for me. Yeah it's been years...

Re: The Future of Digital Performer
...but I think going forward my strategy is AU and VST3 for plugins like Blue Arp, Reason Rack, MPC, Melodyne obviously etc. That's what I've been doing for a while now: using primary AU and then VST3 for Melodyne obviously, and also VST3 for Console 1 since VST3 is the required format in DP to sup...

Re: The Future of Digital Performer
Seems many developers now are releasing only in AU, VST3 and AAX... all UB2. I guess VST2 will be with us for a while, but maybe after more developers get the hang of it, VST2 will go away except for legacy plugs. I wonder why Steinberg's APK and documentation (from everything I heard) is so horren...

Re: The Future of Digital Performer
Follow up to my previous post: I just checked and if DP 11.31 is launched natively, the Audio Plug-in prefs won't even show me Intel-only VST2s as an option. I cannot even see them unless I launch DP in Rosetta. You are on Apple Silicon, I'm pretty sure. Any chance the "Launch in Rosetta"...

Re: The Future of Digital Performer
Michael: Thank you! This is a bunch of options I wasn't aware of. As I'm writing this, I'm firing up DP and going to Preferences/Audio Plug-ins/Set. For reasons I don't understand, I've got odd options: Enable All.2, Enable All.2.2, Enable All.2.2.2. (I didn't invent theses on purpose.)So, I'm opti...
