I think what I would do is look at the MOTU LP32. It has 4 ADAT in/outs that one could plug into. If I ever see 1 used I’m on it.

I have a 896. Don’t forget it has ADAT 2x in & out so you could get a Thunderbolt interface with ADAT and still use the 8 ins & outs.

I’m not sure but it might not run on an Intel machine. You might have to look around for a G5. I never ran DP5 on an Intel machine but I had it on my G5. DP7 runs on the G5 and the MacPro

Can you just download it from the Internet and splice out the sections you need to splice out and then upload it back up?

I know this might not be what you want but what I might do is insert some extra measures blank measures into my external hardware sequencer so everything starts at the same time but nothing plays on the external sequencer for 16,24,32 measures or whatever you want
