Re: when is DP5 shipping?

i don't recall seeing that announced. i've already ordered the DP5 upgrade, so motu being motu i suspect it can't be far off. i don't suppose it's shipping yet? maybe i missed a clue about when i should expect it, but if you know when it's gonna be in my grubby mits i'd like to know. i did just get a tranzport. certainly a cool device. very nice. i don't know what the deal is with motu and yamaha on implementing the control surface features of the dm2000 the way it works for all my other daw's. it's a pisser that it doesn't work right in dp. if you are wondering if tech support ...

we could discuss whether dp5 is any more likely to be buggy then the next version and so forth, but all that is crystal ball material. who knows what will be more stable on a given system? or what works on your system will be the same on mine. some .1 releases have been worse than their predesessors...

i'm supposed to do a mix of a multi tracked live show i recorded into dp 4.6. so loading it up into dp5 would be a great way to get comfortable with the new software. client won't be in the room while i mix, only show up to approve the mix. so i can work more slowly and get used to dp5. if it's here...

i have this and love it. it's the best.

i understand that a version of it is coming out for logic. i don't know if that means that we can use it in any other daw's or not. it would be wonderful to use it in DP. i do think it's unmatched.

short of using an external clock, the hd192 internal clock is better than the one in the 424 imho. i'd start with that as the default clock while investigating any other options.

i would love to see motu address this. i may be getting a dm2000 in the near future and would really want to have it act as a control surface for DP, the main software i use. i rather get the dm2000 and ditch DP than vice versa. speaking of which, do dm2000 owners have Logic Pro? has does that work ...

Re: More info on PCIe

I got the same comment from a MOTU tech. But my music store says he heard it from a reliable source that they will have the cards sometime between now and the end of the year. For what it's worth. well, obviously they are coming. we just don't know when for sure. i'd find this easy to believe. espe...

Re: How can DP reduce/eliminate mic hiss ?

i'd get a better mic and stop recording to minidisc instead of trying to solve a prolem which has been created by that particular gear combination. past that, waves restoration bundle would work for removing that hiss, but again you would only be tackling the symptoms, not the cause.
