Re: Love the new forum look!
I already shared my appreciation for this new look in the other thread. But MAN.... gotta say it again. This change you and Doris made here James, is the best looking forum I participate in. By far the most readable and even most balanced, of the dozen or so i attend to each day. Thank you again! D...

Love the new forum look!
I don't know what Dorothy did, but I love this new MOTUNation look. The fonts are crisp and clear, and easier to read; there aren't so many blinding whites anymore. I especially like how it looks with the colours (OS prefs) inverted. White websites feel like an assault on my eyes, so I use a shortcu...

Re: Converting 24bit/48k bounce to 16bit/44.1k?
For Sample Format, I'll add that soundbite to a track in Tracks, select the soundbite and Bounce to Disk Import set to Add to Soundbites Window and having an active dither plugin on the Master track in the post fader placement. Thanks for this. But correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not in front of DP, b...

Re: Converting 24bit/48k bounce to 16bit/44.1k?
Copy that. So if you're planning to convert from 24bit to 16bit, I assume you put a dither plug-in on the master fader during the bounce, and the subsequent conversion from 24bit to 16bit lops off the empty bits? Can’t you just check the Dither command in the Audio menu? (Dither section, Chapter 49...

Re: Time-signature workflow could be improved...
Seems like a worthwhile feature, but I wonder whether, when you have a complicated metronome pattern that needs frequent editing, it might be better to have an explicit MIDI click track playing a metronome sample. With that you could use the search and edit functions, a la Shooshie, and make change...

Re: switching to 32 float from 24 for working?
Hello Everyone, I have been at 24/96 for all of my work for a while. I fairly recently switched to a new Mac Studio. I have the horse power, I am wondering if I should start working at 32 float, now? I see that a few folks here have stated they are working at 32 float (Mike Halloran, for one), and ...

Time-signature workflow could be improved...
Hi. I discovered something I really think could be improved in how we deal with multiple time signature changes and how the metronome clicks: The problem: There's no global way to change metronome click patterns. Once you set the click pattern, like getting a click every quarter note, the only way t...

Re: Projects with "extra measures"?
You might try editing the conductor track's time-signatures. By that, I mean, doing something like deleting the time-signature, then replacing it with the same time-sig--- I'm thinking that'll give DP a chance to reconcile in whatever way it does. Hi, Stubbs. That just reminded me of a related DP s...

Hey Miguel, Did you try to shorten the overall Chunk length to only what you’re using? Setting in the Chunk window. It has helped me in the past. Frank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Hi, Frank. Now that you mention it, that might explain why this issue has been intermittent! I keep changing...

DP & sync services (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc)...
Hello. Years ago it was common knowledge among us not to upload DP projects without zipping them first, especially via email. Something about lost headers in audio files (SDII days and more recently). Is this still an issue at all? Since right now I'm working on a piano solo project, and I don't nee...

Re: Helpful Tip for Panning Stereo Tracks
I sent a suggestion to them that maybe they could add a small toggle button next to the pan pot (visible only on stereo tracks) in the Mixing Board, similar to the buttons next to the aux sends, that would toggle panning types between balance and true panning. Seems kinda kludgy that we have to use...

Re: Master Fader track ineffective
Can it be that your outputs are set so that you can hear everything but they don't match the master fader's out? But that's weird because, when you bounce, it only includes whatever is play-enabled and routed to the MF, so you'd be getting a silenced bounce. So maybe your master fader is assigned to...

Re: Projects with "extra measures"?
I seem to recall DP getting tripped up on empty MIDI tracks. Perhaps something in this thread could be of use? https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=595594&hilit=Empty+tracks#p595594 Thank you for the link, cuttime! I went through it. I checked the project but I don't see anything mi...

Projects with "extra measures"?
Hi. I'd never seen this. Suddenly, one of the DP projects I'm working on shows me a message at startup claiming there are incomplete/extra measures. It offers to fix them, to which I click yes, but every time I open it the same thing happens. I've looked for those measures myself, but I haven't foun...

GE Grid and QS don't match. I'm stumped...
Hello. I thought I already mastered this little aspect of DP, but not really, apparently... The problem is that, while DP shows me the music correctly in QS --and the metronome beats time fine--, it shows the music grouped wrong in the SE and GE, and it's driving me nuts. It's in 12/8, with the metr...
