I had my MOTU 896 analog updated by BLA last year with the mod and it sounded a lot better... However, when I added the Apogee PSX-100 as the master word clock, it sounded Out Of This World!!! One thing I learned this year is that digital audio is only as good as the clock! Not sure how the BLA cloc...

Ethno 2 has made "substantial" upgrades. I love it so far. I love the key switching ability and the new "scale temperament" modes. Leads to lots of cool creative inspiration!

IMHO, MOTU's finest upgrade to date next to DP 6! Well worth the cash to upgrade!

I use the Ren Axx & Ren Vox Compressors on almost 50% of every single instrument in the mix. They are amazing at tightening things up.

I have a FW800 drive with my samples, and a MOTU896 on the same FW bus(daisy chained)... One time I added a second FW drive and I experienced all kinds of problems with performance...
